Not Your Average Floor Plan

I have a client right now that we are redoing their master bedroom.  There is lots of space in which makes it just perfect for adding seating areas, benches and interesting lighting.  While perusing the inter-webs this morning I came across some great images of spaces that don’t have the typical layouts.  I just love this- mix it up- not every room has to have an expected space plan!  Below are some spaces that have started the cogs turning in the old design mind.  Have an odd space?  Email me your pics and maybe we can come up with a great solution for an odd shaped room or maybe just a fresh floor plan for a typical room!

Tired of the typical sofa?  Chaise it up! (source)

Why not put a chair facing into a bed?  Benches don’t have to be the only option. (source)

Come in a stay a while.  I love that this entry has become more than just a passage way! (source)

Not only are these chairs fab but I love that they flank the end of the bed for a seating area. (source)

Daybed LOVE!  For those that know me, they know I am in love with daybeds.  This is just a great way to utilize this funky space! (source)

fireplace 2

Big o chair.  Instead of placing to the side of the sofa (or the chaise!) turn them into the center of the room with their back to the fireplace…create a conversation area- great for rooms with out TV’s! (source)

demi lunes as nightstands

TI love the repetition of the same smaller scale chair in two places and am just tickled pink over the use of the demi-lunes for the side tables! (source)

Fresh idea to put ottoman cubes under a table.  Also obvs in love with the Urban Electric chandelier and sconces.  Yum x10. (source)

white room flokati pillows

I know I have used this image a thousand times but I  just love it for a  white room.  Digging the unique daybed/chaise/bench placement too. (source)
